NOMINATIONS COMMITTEE

The Nominating Committee shall be chaired  by the Immediate Past President.  The remaining members of the Nominating Committee shall be a member of the chapter and appointed by the chair with the approval of the Board of Directors.  There shall be no less than four (4) members including the chairperson.  The Nominating Committee shall solicit recommendations for future Board of Directors and shall act in accordance with the policies of the Chapter.

The committee will seek out members and non-members (both locally and nationally) who wish to showcase their facilities and services to MPI St. Louis Chapter members.  The committee administers the Chapter’s Strategic Partnership Marketing program.  The committee works in conjunction with all committees by handling the tracking and/or processing of all sponsorship requests to ensure uniformity and the accurate recording of donations.  They will support our Chapter goals to meet or exceed budgeted sponsorships    This committee will build a strong base of sponsorship that will financially support the St. Louis Meeting Professional Chapter’s education programs.  Our Chapter functions on the money received through sponsorships

Help support our fundraising efforts for the chapter. Give from the heart for this committee!  Join the team that helps make a difference in our Chapter.  Silent and live auction formats, in addition to the overall coordination of the event.

Fall Special Events Committee:

This committee plans the annual fall fundraising activity.  This is usually held in October.  The committee plans the event, which includes 50/50 donations and a silent auction.  Duties include, but are not limited to, determining the activity, selecting the venue and soliciting sponsorships.  After the event, a committee member submits a recap article for @MPISTL.

Trivia Night Event Committee:

This committee plans the annual Trivia Night fundraising activity.  This is usually held in February.  The committee plans the event, which includes 50/50 donations and a silent auction.  Duties include, but are not limited to, determining the theme, selecting the venue and soliciting sponsorships. After the event, a committee member submits a recap article for @MPISTL


COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE

The committee ensures chapter programs, activities and accomplishments are communicated to our membership via the chapter newsletter, event registrations, social media and the website.  The committee publicizes chapter accomplishment on a local and national level through other publications, media outlets as well as MPI International. The committee reports to the board of directors on strategic issues such as current communication and technology trends and topics pertinent to the meetings industry.   Help be the voice of the chapter!

Education, Monthly Programs:

This committee focuses on planning the (6) six monthly educational events.  Planning for each meeting includes determining speakers, venues, F&B, survey analysis and partnership.

Education, EduCon:

This committee focuses on planning the yearly EduCon conference, St. Louis’ only full educational conference for the  industry.   Committee responsibilities include venue selection, sponsorship, communication, F&B and speaker selection.

Future

This committee focuses on the recruitment of student members and collaborates with the universities for recruitment. This committee is also works with EduCon Committee to support student attendance and student content.

Growth 

The areas for the Growth Committee include:

  • Managing the Member 2 Member program to monitor, maintain and grow participation.
  • Following up with guests and non-members of events to discuss MPISTL Membership.
  • Works with Director of Recruitment and VP Membership on recruitment campaign and members recruitment ideas.
  • Works with Education Committee on Table Hosts programs at monthly luncheon.
  • Connecting  new members with Mentors, experienced MPI Members that helps get new members acquainted with MPISTL and to meet some new people at the next luncheon or event

Success 

The areas for the Success Committee include:

  • Planning four MPI After 5 Networking Events
  • Planning the Annual Awards banquet that is held in June, including initiating the nominations for the awards that are given out at the banquet.
  • Coordinating the selection, interviews and writing of New Member and Student Spotlight articles
  • Salute to the Stars which is our chapter’s member recognition program.

Satisfaction

The areas for the Satisfaction Committee include:

  • Managing the Membership Marketing Matrix which focuses on making reminder phone calls to new members, current members whose memberships have lapsed, and members up for renewal.
  • 50/50 Raffle Ticket Sales sold at monthly luncheons, EduCon and other chapter events.
  • Coordinates the annual calling campaign to encourage member participation in MPI Member Satisfaction Surveys.
  • Recognizing Member Anniversaries by giving out anniversary pins.
  • Hosting MPI Max Sessions, our chapter’s new member orientation program.
  • Coordinate with Education Committee to be sure Membership is at the registration area for MPISTL events.

AWARDS & SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE
